Guidelines for NGO Registration
With immediate effect, there is no need to submit any hard copies of papers/documents for Registration/Renewal of Registration with The National trust. Scanned copy of documents should be uploaded in the online system while applying for Registration/Renewal.
The National Trust registration shall be granted to only those NGOs which are working with persons of disabilities of any one or more than one of following categories:
- Autism
- Cerebral Palsy
- Intellectual Disability
- Multiple Disability, i.e combination of two or more disabilities in a single person
Document Related to RPwD Act Registration, Trust Deed and NITI Ayog registration
- Memorandum of Association (MOA) or Trust Deed, (Clear scanned copy showing the stamp of the Office of Registrar of Societies / Trust)
- By Laws of the Organization which includes
- Objectives of the organization.
- Certified list of present Governing Body Members.
- Certificate of registration under RPwD Act 2016.
Document Related to Governing Body/ Managing committee/ Managing Trustees
- Aadhar Card of each and every member of Governing body/ Managing Committee/ Managing Trustees. In case of PWD member attach certificate of Disability. In case of Parent, attach certificate of Disability of child establishing relation with Governing Body member.
- An undertaking by the head of the organization (to be generated from the system) stating that neither the organization nor any of the Governing Body/ Managing committee Member/ Trustee is blacklisted by the National Trust / Government of India or State Government. Also no member of the Governing Body was the member/spouse of any of the organization in the past which was blacklisted by the National Trust / Government of India or State Government.
Document Related to Activities of the Organization – Annual Report of Activities of the previous year (only in Hindi or English language) having specific mention of followings:
- General introductory information about the organization including the main fields of its working.
- Benseficiaries of National Trust disabilities.
- Activities done for the beneficiaries covered under the National Trust Act including photographs.
Document Related to Audited Accounts of the Organization (past 2 years)
- Audited Receipt and Payment statement.
- Audited Income and Expenditure statement.
- Audited Balance Sheet.
- Auditors Report duly stamped and signed by the Auditor.
- PAN card of the Organization. (Note: if you are applying in FY 2023-24 then audited accounts of FY 2022-23 and 2021-22 is must)
Mandatory documents (to be uploaded online):
- Copy of Undertaking in letter head of Head of the NGO signed and stamped by authorized signatory
- Memorandum of Association (MOA):
- Copy of Certificate of Registration under Societies/Registration Act/Companies Act/Public Charitable Trust:
- Copy of Certificate under Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016
- Copy of Certificate of Registration under National Trust Act, if registered earlier.
- Evidence whether organization is located in own/rented building
- Copy of PAN Card of Applicant Organization
- Copy of Aadhar Card of Staff Members (If applicable)
- Copy of Aadhar Card of Governing Body/Managing Body members.
- Copy of Form E signed and stamped by authorized signatory in each page
Basic criteria of last 2 years for Registration with National Trust (For Voluntary Organizations)
- Minimum income – Rs. 3 lakh Per Annum
- (Minimum Expenditure – Rs. 3 lakh Per Annum
- Minimum number of beneficiaries – 20 with UDID
- Minimum donation & CSR fund – Minimum 20% of the income
- 12 A & 80 G certificate (optional)
For Parent Association & For Association of PWD
- Minimum 20 UDID card or UDID Enrolment Number with disability certificate
Instructions:
- Please select the correct category of your organization based on criteria given below:

3 | Voluntary Organization | All other Organizations do not fall under category 1 & 2 |
Important Notes:
- In case of any false information found, the registration of the organization will be immediately cancelled and the organization will be blacklisted.
- After submitting of the online form, if any modification is requested by National Trust , the same must be complied immediately and positively within 60 days from the date of the modification request failing which the application will be rejected and the processing fee will be forfeited. (Please keep on checking regularly on your login page for modification request)
- Once the application of registration is rejected, the NGO can reapply only after 6 months and will have to pay the processing fee again.
- All documents to be uploaded should be in pdf format with maximum 5 MB of size each.
